The appointment with the future is set for this morning, 10 am, on the Barcelona track. Just enough time to dismantle the Martinator-Terminator set, clean the pit area from the confetti of the world party experienced on Sunday evening, and on the track it will already be 2025. And what a 2025.

Today's test day, in fact, is the super-prologue of what will happen in a few months, when MotoGP will be able to restart its engines after the winter break and will present itself at the green light of the World Championship with a starting grid revolutionized by the market.

Scene number one: the World Champion, namely Martin, will climb onto the Ducati's cousin-rival, namely the Aprilia Rs-Gp which, with its number one printed on the fairing, will show up at the start of the new season with the ambition (and the possibility) of aiming for the title. Martin with the lap of honor on Sunday evening, at the end of the Gp della Solidarietà, got off his Desmosedici and never got back on it... again. At least for the next two years.

Today Martinator will be at the center of the first 2025 briefing of the Aprilia team next to Massimo Rivola and in the company of the other rider that the Noale company has 'stolen' from Ducati: Marco Bezzecchi. For Bez, saying goodbye to Valentino's team, Vr46, was a heartbreak, but today a brand new adventure begins. New and ambitious for the Bezzecchi-Aprilia duo, as intrigued as the one featuring Martin.

Let's go to the Ducati box. The official one. The one where, together with Pecco Bagnaia, the Marc Marquez era begins. A golden couple formed in the Borgo Panigale factory team, where the hiring of the Spanish champion was decided, wanted and promoted by everyone, Gigi Dall'Igna first and foremost. Marquez's first laps on the official Desmosedici will already be a sort of test to understand what the gap between Pecco and Marc can and will be in view of the head-to-head that in 2025 will be under the spotlight of the world championship fight. Marquez leaves the Gresini team where he discovered and rode the Ducati, immediately proving to be at ease (three victories). And taking into account the fact that in Gresini he rode last year's Desmo (the 2023), a rather problematic bike, it is to be imagined that on the 2024 with which Bagnaia raced and Martin won the World Championship, King Marc could immediately obtain super times. But he could get on the 2025 bike as early as today.

And this morning the curtain will also rise on the new era of KTM, the team that has embraced Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales. Two strong, very strong riders, with a great desire for revenge after not very easy seasons in Ducati and Aprilia respectively. Finally, the Pramac team, by Paolo Campinoti. The World Champions say goodbye to Ducati after 20 years of extraordinary collaboration to begin the adventure as a satellite of Yamaha.

The Barcelona tests (from 10am to 17pm) will be broadcast live on SkyMotoGp and streamed on Now.
