Le Mans May 10, 2025 – Change the circuit, try to change the starting grid, but the final result does not change. Win again Marc Marquez the sprint of Le Mans and takes back the top spot in the World Championship with his brother Alex, still second at the finish line. Watch from the pits instead bagnaia, who fell on the second lap and is now over 25 points away from the top spot in the standings. The surprise was very good Aldeguer, with the third Ducati on the podium, while Quarterly after a beautiful and combative race, he finished fourth.
The race
The start goes without any particular contact. Super Quarterly who starts from pole position, maintaining the lead and also trying to make an initial breakaway on the two brothers Marquez that chase him. It goes up well Binder from the center of the group, but before falling, as it collapses Morbidely due to a wrong braking on the first lap. Too bad for bagnaia, who was there in the wake of the leaders, but crashed at turn 3 on the second lap. Very good instead Fermin Aldeguer, who confirmed his fourth place in qualifying and even tried to maintain the top positions with some very fast first laps.
Marquez chases Quarterly and breaks the ice only on lap six, when at turn 3 he tries to overtake in the beautiful change of direction after the starting straight. The first attack is unsuccessful, but the Spanish driver tries again and succeeds later. Also Alex Marquez studies the overtaking, but goes wide in the first corners behind the Frenchman, thus having to postpone the overtaking by a lap. On lap 8, however, the overtaking is managed by the team's driver Gresini to the detriment of the French Yamaha . Bezzecchi halfway through the race he unfortunately went wide, ending up in the gravel. No consequences for the driver of Aprilia, but the race is compromised.
Those two extra laps needed to Alex to overtake Quarterly, they serve the brother Marc to crystallize the top positions. The French devil, on the other hand, is out of breath and defends himself as best he can from the attack of Aldeguer, who tries on lap 10, but finds the wonderful resistance of the 2021 World Champion. The two go shoulder to shoulder for half a lap, before the Spaniard manages to put it into third gear Ducati on the podium of this sprint race. He comes back to show himself Acosta, a great protagonist in the centre of the group with his KTM. Important recovery by the shark from Mazarron, who manages to put the Austrian bike in fifth place, only to then fall at the penultimate corner, thus leaving space for his compatriot Casa Particular in Viñales and to French zarco, sixth with the first of the Honda. He wins again like this Marc Marquez, in front of his brother Alex, with the surprise Aldeguer to complete the podium of this sprint. With this success, number 93 takes back the top spot in the World Championship from his brother.
