Pecco Bagnaia dominates the Sprint Race in Barcelona
Barcelona, November 16, 2024 – Francis bagnaia wins Sprint Race of Barcelona before Aeneas bastianini. Jorge Martin is third: for the world title it's all postponed to Sunday Grand Prix. A dominant race for Pecco. The Ducati champion thus shortens the rankings against the Spanish rival: they are now 19 points that separate the Italian driver from the top. The championship remains firmly in Martin's hands, which will be enough ninth place in the GP to conquer the world championship. But Bagnaia, after the pole and the victory in the Sprint, is demonstrating that he believes in it until the last metre.

Complicated start for Bagnaia, who must defend himself first from Martin's attack and then from that of bastianini, but managing to take the head of the race. Bastianini's Ducati takes back third place, also helped by Espargaro's comeback, but without managing to get close to Martin. The Spaniard aims not to risk anything for don't compromise the title and never increases the pace, with the gap from Bagnaia reaching 1.4. In the final laps Martin tries to raise the engine revs, also to defend himself from Bastianini's attack, who manages to to overtake dramatically on the last lap. Bagnaia wins, with Bastianini second and Martin third.
