Florence, 9 September 2024 - "The edition that ended in the last few hours in Paris of the Paralympics confirms the goodness of our sports movement. The Olympics had already given excellent signals of the reality of Tuscany in every sport and the results obtained by the athletes belonging to the Italian Paralympic Committee, give continuity to all this". This was declared by the president of Coni Toscana Simone Cardullo. "We are particularly happy with the results of Sarah Morganti and swimming, athletics and cycling athletes - he added -. I also want to mention the fencer from Siena Matteo Betti who at 39 years old won a very beautiful silver medal in foil. The Tuscans continue to be at the forefront of the world of sports at an international level, this rewards our commitment, that of the Cip in particular, but the whole reality of the Coni as a whole if it is combined with what was done at the Olympics. We have collected results in Paris with athletes of value, with experience, but also with young people like Filippo Macchi, who have shown that the grassroots sport of Tuscan clubs is capable of collecting satisfactions both at a national and international level".

The president of Cones Tuscany Cardullo, speaking then of Amber Sabatini, "unlucky protagonist of a fall in the 100 meters final held on Saturday evening", said: "She remains an athlete of reference for us, an example, I have already seen her reaction, as a champion, to the episode that unfairly deprived her of a medal that she deserved, I hug her from a distance and I hope to do it soon in person too". Finally he concluded: "Our constant commitment will be to continue to invest in our sports clubs, in helping them, supporting them, listening to them and in creating a union of intent so that we can broaden the base of those who do sports in the Tuscan territory, starting with young people, which is the indispensable condition then to reach successes in events with great visibility such as the Olympics and Paralympics".
