"Joy in the family" It could be the title of the new book by the writer and journalist Maria Rosa Quario, mom of Federica and Davide BrignoneThe first one has just won the General Ski World Cup and the downhill one, while the second one trains his sister.

"I live this moment with pride – explains Quario – because for a parent seeing their children achieve their goals is the height of happiness. I am here to Sun Valley and it's nice to see the satisfaction on their faces for a season where the successes have exceeded expectations".

She is a former skier, how did she pass on her passion for this sport?

"Both my ex-husband and I tried to combine hard work with fun. The rest was done by our love for the mountains. As a girl I wanted to live in the mountains, but my family couldn't move from Milan. Instead, as soon as the conditions were right I decided to move."

The World Cup ends today (16.30:XNUMX p.m.). How will Federica face this Giant?

"Certainly with a very fighting spirit, even if on Sunday I saw her a little tired. Of course, winning the World Cup in this specialty too would make this season even more extraordinary. Unfortunately, getting to the end with little energy is the price to pay, so I see Alice Robinson one step ahead. The important thing is to continue to have fun".

Will the fun end next year at the Cortina Olympics?

"His enjoyment on skis will always be there, but I don't know when his enjoyment of competing will end. I think we'll only know what his future goals will be in May."

Does Federica have a particular superstition or belief?

"Not as far as I know. She definitely has a very ritualistic lifestyle. For example, a cold shower in the morning or time for meditation are fixed appointments in her day. She is a champion who tries to live her life in a very normal way. In the summer, skiers train in Patagonia, and last September she organized a dance school there with a local instructor. Many people participated and so Marco Odermatt wrote to her a few hours ago that the "salsa" had done everyone good. On Sunday, however, she had gone around looking for bell-bottoms and a cowboy hat because she had been invited to a country party. This is to say that her successes have not made her lose her easy-going nature and her availability to everyone".
