Sofia Goggia archives the return season as very positive, sends a message of encouragement to Federico Brignone and begins to wink at the Olympics. She is a calm, determined, determined Sofi, fully focused on giving 110 percent next season and getting to Cortina in great shape to try to achieve another feat at the Games.

Sofia, what season was it? "I came third in the downhill, I didn't have any great peaks, but it was my best season in superG of my entire career. I'm also a little sorry because the last two races were cancelled, it's an excellent starting point to work calmly for next season".

How are you experiencing the approach to Milan-Cortina? "Peacefully, because it's been a long time since I've arrived healthy at the end of the season, so for me it's almost a novelty. My team and I will do everything possible to plan the next season in the best way and we have to do it calmly without the worry of the event in Italy, otherwise you focus too much on one thing and neglect the rest, instead it's the rest that allows you to do well that day too".

Sofia, a message for Federica Brignone? "We spoke immediately that day when she got hurt, I had called the doctor from the federation who was at the Italian championships to ask for information about her. They were together at the hospital in Trento, so he passed her on to me. In a message I told her that I would like to "be there", unfortunately given the experience I have accumulated over the years, but surely with her staff she will have made the best choices for a rehabilitation program that will bring her to the top for the Olympic races. Her injury is very serious, but if she manages to heal well and put on skis in December she will have all the time in the world to prepare at the top for the Olympics. For me it took just 15-20 days and in any case I was coming off many seasons in which I was injured. She, on the other hand, has had 34 years on skis without any particular injuries and in my opinion, even in her brain she will surely have in mind the gesture to do once she returns".

The flag bearer for the Games has to be chosen. "Do I have a dream for the opening ceremony? It is certainly not up to me to decide, I had already been asked in Beijing to do the standard-bearer, then I managed to get injured and not even do the opening ceremony. We'll see, but clearly it would be a source of pride and a huge honor. However, there are many athletes from many different disciplines in winter sports who can aspire to be flag bearers. We'll see".
