Skiing, Super G bis in La Thuile: favorites and TV schedules. Brignone can win the World Cup
Brignone in La Thuile with 332 points on Lara Gut Behrami and on Friday there is the super giant encore: with more than 300 points she would be unreachable
La Thuile, March 13, 2025 – A third place that can make you smile. Federica Brignone failed to win in front of the home crowd in first super giant of the penultimate stage of the World Cup in La Thuile, but the placing was useful to gain another handful of points on Lara Good Behrami, fourth, bringing the La Salle tiger one step away from her second crystal ball. In the race won by Emma Aicher about Sofia goggia, Federica has increased her lead over the Swiss to 332 points with five races to go, but Gut Behrami only has four points available (she won't do the Sun Valley slalom), including the second super-g in La Thuile scheduled for Friday. In fact, Lara has 400 points available and if she doesn't close the gap on Brignone to under 300 points in the second super-g, she won't have any more chances to catch up.

The situation and the favourites
The accounts are quickly made for the overall World Cup. Lara Good Behrami will take part in the super g in La Thuile, then in the downhill, super g and giant slalom in the Sun Valley finals, while the slalom is not her discipline and she will not do it. There are 400 total points available, 300 of these in the American finals: this means that if in the second Italian super g she does not shorten the gap to under 300 points she will no longer be able to take Federica Brignone. So on Friday in La Thuile, the tiger will have to avoid losing 32 points to Gut Behrami to feel the second World Cup of her career. As for the favorites, we need to start again with Emma Aicher, winner on Thursday, passing through Sofia goggia, very solid on the technical side, and Federica Brignone, who in any case will not play tactics and will want to give her fans a success. Watch out obviously for Lara Gut Behrami, fourth on Thursday but very critical on the safety of the track, and for Cornelia Huetter, which had great intermediates before going out in the final part. Outsider Lauren Maguey, Martha bassino and Esther Ledecka.
