Rome, 23 January 2025 – Another classic in the Alpine skiing calendar. After wengen and the Lauberhorn will be up to the stripes and Kitzbuhel brighten the mornings of the fans. The Austrian weekend, with the World Championships ever closer, will start on Friday morning with the opening super giant, then on Saturday the downhill and on Sunday the slalom. If in Wengen Switzerland dominated in the speed tests, Von Allmen and Odermatt, on the Streif they will try to scratch the red-cross domination, even if the leader of the standings seems quite unbeatable. The Italians will also try, with a Casse very lively in the two downhill tests and today represents the greatest blue card. But there is also a Paris growing and who knows, maybe his friend Streif will be able to enhance the characteristics of the boy from Val d'Ultimo.

The situation and the favourites

The fight is open in the super giant standings after four out of eight races. Marco leads the way Odermatt with 241 points, ahead of Vincent's 222 Kriechmayr and Fredrik's 220 Moeller. Mattia too Casse is still in contention with his 179 points, especially if he were to get a good result in Kitzbuhel. As for the favorites, it should be noted that the last super G on the Streif was won by Vincent Kriechmayr, who logically should be considered a great protagonist of the race on a par with Marco Odermatt, second in 2021. Franjo Von Allmen wants to confirm its growth, but Italians can be protagonists with Paris on the podium in 2019 and victorious in 2015, but in addition there is a Mattia Casse in his prime and this makes him very dangerous to everyone else. Outsider Alexis MoneyDaniel Hemetsberger, Cameron Alexander, Loic Meillard, Stephan Rogentin and Luke Feurstein.
