What Time Does Sinner Play Rune at the 2025 Australian Open: Where to Watch It on TV
The Italian challenges the Danish player, number 1 seed. The previous matches are tied, with two wins each

Sinner in action
Melbourne, 19 January 2025 - The difficulty level is raised for Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open. The Italian is preparing to face in the round of 16 Holger Rune, seeded number 13, fresh from a fifth-set victory against Myomir Kecmanovic, which allowed him to equal his best result in the tournament. A match during which the Dane had to deal with cramps. His physical condition may not be at its best, but the 2003-born player is ready to play. "I will have nothing to lose, it will be exciting," he said after the victory. Previously, Rune had eliminated Zhang Zhizhen and our other standard-bearer, Matteo Berrettini. Sinner instead has successes behind him against Marcos Giron, Tristan Schoolkate (the only one to have managed to snatch a set from him up to this point) and Nicolas Jarry.
Previous
Sinner and Rune have faced each other on four occasions and the balance is perfectly even. But the native of San Candido is on a positive streak, as he has won the last two meetings: the world number one prevailed at the 2023 Finals and in the quarterfinals of the last Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo. The Dane's victories instead came during the semi-final in Sofia in 2022 (when the Italian was forced to retire) and the penultimate act in Monte Carlo in 2023.
Sinner's Australian Open Record
Before last year's triumph, with the success in the final act against the Russian Daniil Medvedev with the result of 3-2 (3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3), Sinner's best result dates back to 2022, when he managed to reach the quarter-finals only to be eliminated from the tournament by the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas with the score of 3-6, 4-6, 2-6. Tsitsipas who knocked out the 2001 class two years ago, stopping his run to the eighth finals. In previous editions, however, the Italian had never gone beyond the second round.
Time and where to see the meeting
The match between Sinner and Rune will be played on the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on the night between Sunday 18th and Monday 19th January. As this is the second match on the program after the women's circuit match between Svitolina and Kudermetova, it will not start before 4:1 am (Italian time). The match will be broadcast on Eurosport, through its channels Eurosport2 or EurosportXNUMX HD. It will also be possible to follow the match in streaming, through eurosport.it, Discovery+, SkyGo, Now and Dazn.
