In singles it went badly, but Matteo Berrettini he made up for it twice with Lorenzo Sonego in the tournament Indian Wells. The Italian pair yesterday beat the Croatian Metkic and New Zealander Venus 6-4, 6-3. In singles, both Berrettini himself (6-3, 6-3 by the Greek Tsitsipas) and Lorenzo Musetti were eliminated, beaten by the Frenchman Arthur Fils 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-3 after having wasted a match point in the second set. Daniil Medvedev, the fifth seed in the draw, reached the eighth-finals due to the withdrawal of the American Alex Michelsen after only two games. The next opponent is another American, Tommy Paul, who beat the British Norrie 6-3 7-5. Rune also advances, beating the Frenchman Humbert 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 and will now face Tsitsipas. In the United States, Flavio Cobolli and Luca Nardi are respectively the number 2 and number six seeds in the draw in the Phoenix challenger. Nardi will debut against the Japanese Kei Nishikori.
