The 2025 season starts with a double defeat Lombard tennis players engaged on the challenger circuitThe most difficult task fell to Mattia Bellucci who, despite being the eighth seed in the 125 on the hard courts of Canberra, had drawn in his debut the eager Spaniard Martin Landaluce, who had already beaten him a few months ago. And once again the outcome of the direct clash rewarded the Iberian, who imposed himself in two sets with the score of 6/3, 6/2 in a match channeled in a very precise direction from the first points.
The 23 year old from Busto Arsizio is knocked out and the same fate awaits him Federico Arnaboldi, registered for the 75th Thai tournament in Nonthaburi. The 24-year-old from Brianza found the Frenchman Gregoire Barrere, the second favorite of the draw, who defeated him in two sets 6/4, 7/6.
Both will travel to Melbourne this weekend, where they will be involved in the qualifiers for the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the season. Bellucci will be chasing promotion to the main draw in the only major where he has not yet succeeded (last year he went out in the second round at the hands of the American Emilio Nava), for Arnaboldi instead it will be the first experience in his career in one of the four most important tournaments on the circuit.
