A triumph of sport, a celebration of the public and great participation also among the sponsors, for the first experiment in Monza of ATP Challenger Atkinsons Monza Open 2025. Matteo Fenaroli, sponsorship manager, sums up. "The sponsors offered the logo, plus participation in the collateral events that gave added value to the event – he explains – I think of Meregalli Vini who offered their products at the dinners and in the hospitality. The Istituti Clinici Zucchi followed the athletes step by step and Comtel allowed the installation of the Falco (a system of cameras and sensors that simulates the line judges). ATP Monza, after the Rome Internationals and the ATP Finals in Turin, is the only tennis event in Italy to have this system".
The dream of bringing ATP Challenger in Monza has took shape in November 2023, recalls Fenaroli. The idea of creating a system between all the actors in the area was a winning one. The foundations were built over the last 10 years, by Duvier Medina and Marco Baio, through the Villa Reale tennis project, around which more than a thousand passionate tennis players gravitate, from 5 to 70 years old. "Giorgio Tarantola, former ATP referee and already director of two successful Challenger tournaments - recalls Fenaroli - gave credibility to the Monza project and so, on December 18, 2024 we had the official assignment and the ATP date: less than 4 months from the start of the tournament".
The territory has closed ranks, between the Municipality, Assolombarda, Calcio Monza, companies like Thermofisher, Rinascente, Rovagnati and Bolton close to the issues of food education; BCC Carate, Aqua Plose, sponsor and official supplier of water, Acinque, local utility and many other entities that have taken up the challenge. Australian took care of the tournament clothing, while Lombarda Motori provided the 8 Cupras for the athletes' transportation. "A special thanks - underlines Fenaroli - to our title sponsor who chose the Open Monza 2025 to launch the historic Atkinsons brand. While the Sgariboldi family, owner of EuroItalia, was crucial for the economic and project solidity".
Schools supported tennis players on the court: Olivetti, Mapelli, Bianconi, San Giuseppe, Mosè Bianchi, for 800 spectators in the stands, created the atmosphere: "A small Montecarlo in the heart of Brianza".
