Monte Carlo, 9 April 2025 – False step for Novak Djokovic on his debut on clay. The former world number 1 was defeated in the round of 16 of theATP of Monte Carlo da Alexandro Tabilo. Nole was chasing the 100th title of his career. 

The Chilean, number 32 of the ATP ranking, closed the match in two sets for a total of one hour and 28 minutes: 6-3, 6-4. score final. 

For Djokovic, the tournament's top seed, it was his Monte Carlo debut. Tabilo instead came from the first round against Wawrinka, defeated in three sets. 

The premises for the 24-time Slam champion were not the best. After the final lost in Miami, Djokovic had complained an eye infection, so much so that his presence in the Principality was in doubt until a few days ago. The problem then seemed to have been resolved.

A day of two faces for Italians. But the season for him opened in style with the Victory in Bucharest: it is the first title won in his career.
