Australian Open, Keys' feat: she beats Sabalenka and wins her first Slam

Rome, 25 January 2025 - Madison Keys won the Australian Open women's 2025. The 29-year-old American, seeded 19th, who in the semi-finals had gotten the better of the former world number one and second seeding favourite Iga Swiatek, she beat 26-year-old Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka in the final, number one in the world, in three sets with the score of 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 after 2h02' of play. This is the first career Slam for the American.

Born in Illinois 29 years ago, number 19 in the world at the beginning of the year (but from Monday she will be number 7), to realize her Slam dream Madison Keys she had to beat the top two players in the ranking.
