Next week will be a hot one (and not only meteorologically) for Lombard tennis, busy on two international fronts. While Milan will organize the ASPRIA Tennis Cup-Trofeo BCS, included in the challenger calendar (today the presentation is scheduled at the headquarters of the Harbour Club in via Cascina Bellaria), at the same time the ninth edition of the ITF men's tournament in Bergamo will take place, “Trofeo TNB Azimut Investimenti“, organized by the Tennis Club Città dei Mille, which offers a prize pool of fifteen thousand euros.

The historic Orobic club is ready to launch a new name and is setting its sights on Dutchman Mees Rottgering, who closed 2024 as world number 1 junior thanks to the final at Wimbledon and the victory at the Chengdu Masters. The boy trains at the Joris College in Eindhoven and is currently number 711 ATP. Leading the list of participants will be Australian Matthew Dellavedova (world number 396) ahead of Bulgarian Pyotr Nesterov. The Italian patrol relies above all on Andrea Pacchione, Gabriele Piraino, Tommaso Compagnucci, Federico Bondioli and local idol Samuel Vincent Ruggeri, who however is going through a difficult period and has dropped significantly in the world rankings.

The playoffs and playouts of the Serie B team series will start over the weekend. In the men's field, Quanta Club Milano will face Galatina at home in the semifinal for promotion to Serie A2, just as Tennis Club Pavia awaits Play Pisana. In search of salvation, Tennis Club Parabiago will instead be playing on home soil against Associazione Tennis among the men, and Tennis Club Lumezzane will be playing in the difficult away game in Pesaro against Tennis Club Baratoff among the women.
