Rome, 5 April 2025 - Jannik Sinner, returned shortly after the agreed suspension with Wada for the case Clostebol, confessed to Sky the difficult moment: "When the disqualification arrived in Doha, I felt fragile. But the people close to me lifted me up, helped me understand. But it was very hard."

The world number one tennis player explained: "Things happened that I didn't expect. It took me a while to find myself again, other difficult things happened outside of suspension. But I'm here, I can't wait to get back. Countdown? I've been doing it since the first day of suspension...".

Sinner explained what happened in the plea bargain with Wada in front of the CAS in Lausanne: "It was very quick, even if I didn't agree. In the end you have to choose the lesser evil, even if what I'm going through is a bit unfair. But it could have been worse, with an even greater injustice."

A period spent away from the fields, but without suffering from it: "Number 1? I haven't watched tennis these past few months, almost nothing: I can't control it...". Jannik has a more general vision, the court, the opponent, and the unexpected events of life, see the forbidden cream that came from a simple contact with an inattentive collaborator. "Okay, coming back as number 1, or 2 or 3, can be important. I don't know what happened to Alcaraz or Zverev in these months: Every game is difficult, and you never know if there's something off the pitch that affects you... Now the clay season begins, Carlos is the favorite there. And Sasha is also strong, he could have become number 1 last year at Roland Garros".

But Sinner, even if during this period he changed channels at the sight of a racket, he did not neglect physical and technical preparation: "It was a great opportunity to improve where I was struggling, on the surfaces that were most tiring for me. Every day I feel better physically and mentally."
