What time does Sinner play Giron at the 2025 Australian Open: where to watch it on TV. Only one precedent between the two

Melbourne, January 17, 2025 - After overtaking the Chilean Nicolas Jarry in three sets and the oceanic Tristan Schoolkate in four (and recovering a partial disadvantage), Jannik Sinner is expected in the third round of the Australian Open 2025 by the obstacle called Marcos Giron, number 46 in the ATP rankings. The 31-year-old American is coming off a fifth-set victory over the Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry, while in his debut in the tournament he had defeated the German Yannick Hanfmann. An opponent that absolutely cannot be underestimated for the reigning champion, who, if he wins, would face one of the Danish players in the round of 16 Holger Rune and the Serbian Myomir Kecmanovic.

The only precedent between the two

Up to this point, Sinner and Giron have faced each other only once. The previous one dates back to October 2023, when our standard-bearer got the better of the American in the match valid for the first round of the Masters 1000 of Shanghai 2023. Triumph with the score of 7-6(7) 6-2 for the Italian.

Sinner's Australian Open Record

Before last year's triumph, with the success in the final act against the Russian Daniil Medvedev with the result of 3-2 (3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3), Sinner's best result dates back to 2022, when he managed to reach the quarter-finals only to be eliminated from the tournament by the Greek Stephen Tsitsipas with the score of 3-6, 4-6, 2-6. Tsitsipas who knocked out the 2001 class two years ago, stopping his run to the eighth finals. In previous editions, however, the Italian had never gone beyond the second round.

Time and where to see the meeting
