Prato, April 10, 2025 – Lucrezia Stefanini will play the Internazionali d’Italia. This was announced this morning by Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation, who announced the names of the players who will hold the “wild card” that will allow them access to the main draw of the tennis event in Rome. And among them, there will also be the almost twenty-seven-year-old from Carmignano, chosen together with Nuria Brancaccio, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, Sara Errani, Tyra Caterina Grant and Giorgia Pedone. Lucrezia, after all, is at the height of her competitive maturity: compared to past seasons, the highlight represented by winning a tournament has perhaps been missing so far, but there is no shortage of time and the fact of participating in competitions with a high difficulty coefficient certainly represents a point to take into consideration. Last January, for example, Stefanini competed in the Australian Open, as she has already done several times in the past, and last March 7 she climbed to the quarterfinals of the W75 Porto. Stefanini has climbed to 324 victories in 577 matches played in her career, she is the sixth best tennis player in Italy according to the Italian ranking and number 149 globally according to the WTA ranking. A little less than two years ago she had managed to climb the rankings with excellent performances, until reaching the ninety-ninth position globally. But who knows, maybe she can cut that milestone again in the coming months. Starting right from the Internationals that will open in the capital on April 29th.
