Jonas Vingegaard reveals concussion after Paris-Nice crash
Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard has revealed he suffered a concussion during Paris-Nice, slowing his return to racing.

Il ciclista danese Jonas Vingegaard ha rivelato di aver subito una commozione cerebrale durante la Parigi-Nizza, rallentando il suo ritorno alle gare.
Jonas Vingegaard revealed that he had brought back a concussion in the accident that occurred during the fifth stage of the Paris-Nice on March 13. Vingegaard, who was wearing the yellow jersey, abandoned the race the next day, complaining of a bruise to his hand, according to his team, the Visma Lease. "After the crash I felt dizzy and, after the stage, I had a lot of nausea and incredible tiredness, which lasted for several days," the champion told the BT newspaper in an interview published today.
The Danish rider did not ride the Tour of Catalonia because he did not feel sufficiently recovered from the accident. He said he was back on the bike on Thursday, March 20. "I'm happy to be back on the bike, even if it took a bit longer than expected because of the concussion, which required a lot of rest," Vingegaard added.
The 28-year-old, who had initially planned to compete in the Critérium du Dauphiné in June, said he had not yet finalized his return to competition schedule. "For now, we'll take it one day at a time and let it be rehabilitation to decide whether to make changes or additions to my program," he said. Vingegaard suffered a crash in April 2024 during the Tour of the Basque Country, spending 12 days in hospital, eight of them in intensive care. Last winter, he confessed that he had considered ending his career after this serious accident.
