Bolelli and Vavassori prepare for second consecutive Australian Open final, aiming for No. 1.

"We will introduce ourselves to this second consecutive final more mentally prepared." Simon Bolelli e Andrea Vavassori smile after qualifying for the doubles final at the Australian Open, the second consecutive; but they are already focused on the match that awaits them.

"Last year it was a totally unexpected final. We were 50 in the world and we risked being eliminated from the tournament right away. It was very emotional and we didn't know how to best manage the difficulties we had in managing the wait. This time we will certainly be more ready", explains Bolelli.

"For me this is the fourth Slam final, and certainly the experiences I have gained, especially in terms of mental management of this type of match, will help me", echoes Vavassori.

The Italian duo is coming off an exceptional 12 months: four titles and four finals on the ATP circuit.

The goal is to equal Jannik Sinner: "We want the number 1 in the doubles ranking - they say - Our focus is that. The premises are there, they are not just words; there are facts, results, and this gives us confidence. Our level has grown a lot compared to last year. Apart from a few bad matches, we have shown that we have the level to always get to the end of the big tournaments. The season is long and it will be important to know how to manage ourselves well; if we manage to stay at this level, we will play a little less and focus only on the big events. We will have to be good in terms of calendar".
