Macerata returns to A1: the joy of CBF Balducci after the victory in Messina

"We have reported Macerata in A1: it's an honor and a joy". These are the words of the captain Alessia Fiesoli, spiker of the CBF Balducci, returning to the city with the team after the 1-3 victory in Messina in game 2 of the playoff final women's volleyball against the Sicilians. "They – he recalls – pushed a lot in the first set in a sports hall that was a cauldron, but we were good at not giving up".

For the libero Giulia Bresciani it is the fifth promotion. "I was lucky - says the player - to play in well-organized and ambitious teams. This year the leap to A1 was built over time, there was constant growth as a team and in the end the promotion came".

The first year in A2 will be unforgettable for spiker Camilla Sanguigni. "It was an immense joy, I experienced a very strong emotion - says the player - and the next day I still have to realize how much we have done. For me it was an honor to be part of such a strong and united team, capable of overcoming difficulties and reaching the greatest goal".

For Sara Caruso, a middle blocker born in Caltanisetta, it was an unforgettable day to have achieved promotion in her Sicily. "I played the two final matches at home. The first on Easter Sunday in a packed Fontescodella and then in Messina where relatives were in the stands: I will never forget this date". After the last ball, tears appeared. "They were of joy. We reached a wonderful goal - concludes Caruso - with a wonderful group, which had what it takes to achieve it. We arrived at the end in top form".

In the final, setter Asia Bonelli was awarded as MVP of the match. "I'm very happy, it's a victory that we deserved after all the hard work in the gym. We are a united group, the team deserved this victory. The MVP title? I didn't expect it and I'm very happy".
