Promotion to A1 for Cb Balducci: an unforgettable season for women's volleyball in Macerata

There was not only the promotion to A1 of women's volleyball for the Cb Balducci, but a season full of unforgettable moments and some players remembered in the Carlino headquarters the stages of a satisfying journey. "There is pride and happiness in us - says captain Alessia Fiesoli - for having brought back Macerata in the top division". "I had a wonderful year – says spiker Camilla Sanguigni – in a fabulous group that reached the finish line". Spiker Valeria Battista points out another aspect. "The group and the strength that united us are unforgettable – she says”. "It was – adds libero Aurora Morandini – a beautiful, long season, full of satisfactions that ended in the best possible way". The final goal surpasses everything. "It gave us so much emotion – underlines middle blocker Sara Caruso – to have managed to bring the club back to the top division". It is a promotion that also leaves a legacy in each of the players. "The belief in our means, after a year of work – indicates Fiesoli – we played a beautiful game". "I discovered – adds Sanguigni – a completely new professional environment for me as well as a different way of working". "It gave me the awareness – says Morandini – that by not giving up you can reach extraordinary goals".

It was the first final for Caruso. "The victory - says the player - repaid me for years of work and I had the certainty of having arrived at a point that many dream of". It was a season in which the team overcame difficulties. "But in those moments - adds Battista - we were able to count on people who helped us". The girls experienced many exciting moments. "Game 3 with Trento - indicates Sanguigni - was very exciting". And then there was the beautiful crowd. "The fans gave us a huge boost. There were so many people in the semifinal and then in game 1 in the final with Messina". Promotion came in Sicily, Caruso's region. "It was a very strong emotion to experience it and celebrate it with the family". For Morandini it was the second season in Macerata after having played in the lower categories. "I was part of an organized club and I discovered an environment where I like to stay for a long time". Battista achieved promotion by winning in Messina where she played in the previous season. "There was no spirit of revenge in me towards my former team, I put a lot of determination on the field - he says -. In Messina I was happy to see several people again".

La Cbf Balducci in one year he had 203 training sessions. "Every time - coach Valerio Lionetti recalls - it was nice to work in the gym and even nicer to finish like this in Messina". For Lionetti, after years as second in Conegliano where he won everything, it was a success as first technical manager. "I started a journey - concludes the coach - in which you have to take responsibility, make choices in the first person, but certain results are always thanks to the staff, the team, the club: they belong to everyone".
