The words of the technicians
Gian Piero believes in it Gasperini who is hunting for the first Italian trophy with his Atalanta after the victory in the Europa League. For the coach of the Goddess, this semi-final could be different from all the other clashes with Inter, often ending badly: "It's a different match compared to the ones in the league, it will be ninety minutes and it's a one-off knockout match. It has to be seen from a different perspective - he said - Inter is the strongest team, our last matches against them have been complicated and the first thing will be not to concede at the beginning. We will have to stay in the game longer". Atalanta, however, is the only team of the four participants to have won in Europe: "It's a great source of pride, it's been a long time since an Italian team won a cup and for us it was an important point in the journey - Gasp again - However, we have to think about the match and it's a bit of a novelty to be here. It's played away from home and it's all a bit strange. It will be a good test not only to try to win a trophy but also to understand how competitive we will be". As for the formation, Gasp was asked if he plans to field Zaniolo owner for the first time: "I haven't decided yet, there are also Brescianini and Samardzic. In terms of the championship we need more ready and competitive players". On the opposite side, obviously, also Simone Inzaghi aims to win the trophy, and he is a specialist: "We represent a great club and the Super Cup is important - his comment - We know the difficulties of this competition with two games in a few days and we will try to give our best right away. Two teams that are on a great journey are facing each other". Atalanta is no longer a surprise: "They won the Europa League and it will be a very difficult match for us. We will need a great Inter", Inzaghi's message. The coach lives with some defections, especially in defense: "There are few of us at the back, we hope to recover Acerbi and Pavard by mid-January, we will try to field a competitive team - Inzaghi again - For us the Super Cup is an objective and we have held the title for three years, but we know that there are important teams that want to win it and Atalanta is first in the league". Inzaghi, undoubtedly, does not trust the positive precedents: "Precedents do not go on the field and in the last match the market was open and with Atalanta who had defections. From then on they have had three months of very high level".
