Cycling, in Vignole di Quarrata a debate on overcoming barriers: the story of Alfonsina Strada

Quarrata, 13 December 2024 - Saturday 14 December, from 16 pm at the Auditorium of the Banca Alta Toscana in Vineyards of Quarrata, a debate will be held on the theme “The long road to overcoming barriers - the story of Alfonsina Strada”.

This is a project conceived by Manager Sportivi Associati to discuss the values ​​of sport and raise awareness in the national sports community, with particular reference to to the younger generations and the issues of the gender gap. An initiative in the year in which we celebrate 100 years since the participation of Alfonsina Strada at the 1924 men's Giro d'Italia.

An iconic moment in the history of Italian sport that helped make Alfonsina an example of courage and the fight to overcome gender barriers.

The debate table will feature the President of the Tuscany Regional Cycling Committee Saverio Metti, Daniela Isetti, head of the Associated Sports Managers Project Commission, and Silvia Parietti, member of the ACCPI (Italian Professional Cyclists Association) board of directors.
