Top Volley. Montanari wins the stage with the record number of points
In the fourth round of the minor volleyball championships, Martina Montanari confirms her leading role with a record of 34 points. Rankings and challenges are taking shape, with Giulia Bignardi and Celeste Serri behind her.
At the fourth attempt, finally the minor volleyball championships complete the day's program, and also the Top Volley rankings begin to take a slightly more definitive turn: also this week, however, we have to wait for the midweek recoveries, which in truth do not change a situation, in which the girls forcefully make their way, occupying the first four places of the day, and with important scores. The winner of the fourth stage, for the fifth time in her career, is an old acquaintance of the Trophy, the opposite Martina Montanari of the Studio Logica Invicta S.Faustino of Serie D, who in the 3-1 with which the Modena team beat Pontevecchio at home, puts 34 balls on the ground, which is obviously the absolute record of the season: for the 30-year-old athlete from Modena, a long past in Villa d'Oro up to B2, then S.Damaso and Volley Modena, it is also the best female score recorded in the last five seasons, and one of the first five ever of the trophy, and it also earns her the lead in the general ranking with an average of 26,5 points per game, in the two games played, in addition to serving her to break the wall of 3 thousand points in her career, 3.031 to be exact, which make her the third overall among the athletes currently active in the Modena area, second girl after Rachele Natali of Hidroplants Soliera 150, and bring her one step away from entering the Top 10 women's of all time.
Behind her, with 31 points, another girl, the 23-year-old opposite hitter from X2 Solution Stadium Mirandola of Serie C Giulia Bignardi, in her second season in Mirandola, after the two seasons in Suzzara that had launched her after her time in Carpi: also for Bignardi, the 'big score' is worth a record in the rankings, the one relating to the 69 points, which however divided for the four games played, are worth an average of 17,3, which places her in twelfth place in the General. Behind her are two other girls, Celeste Serri in Pol. Maranello climbs onto the podium with 28 points, three more than sixteen-year-old Melissa Mazzieri of Moma Anderlini, who was a starter in series D for the occasion: the first boys are one point below at 24, 20-year-old Eugenio Gasparini of Univolley Carpi of series D, and 21-year-old Riccardo Calzolari, of the newcomer Bulloneria Emiliana Casinalbo of series C.
Gasparini also appears in third place in the general classification, led as mentioned by Martina Montanari ahead of Celeste Serri, in turn ahead of Marcello Andreoli of National Villa, who with 20 points fails to double the 32 of the previous round. The fight for the title of Superbomber of 2024 is also starting to heat up, a classification that takes into account only the games played in the calendar year, but the road is still very long, with nine rounds available to overturn the current dominance.
