Milan is guaranteed a double representation at the Final Four on June 2 and 6 of the Padel Series A. Even before the third and final day of the regular season, in fact, the men's and women's teams of Milano Padel Asd have achieved access to the final act of the Italian championship by winning their respective groups. "We got there last year and we achieved two second places - underlines the president Antonio Civita - The beautiful thing is also how these victories matured. In the first challenge of the men's team, only Italians played, a dream that I have always had, with three boys under 20: Abate, Bonnefoy and the debut of Giovannini who is 16 and won two matches out of two. The same goes for the women's team: only Italians on the field and an eighteen-year-old, Giulia Dal Pozzo, who also won both matches".

A project that started five years ago, a time in which a group has been created that is constantly growing, led by Mexican coach Maurizio Algarra, who has been in Italy for fifteen years. He recently celebrated the paternity of little Vittoria and the same will happen in May to Lorenzo Di Giovanni, one of the pillars of the men's team. "We clearly won both group matches - analyzes the Italian athlete -. This gives us hope. There is one day left in which the qualifiers must be defined with certainty, but we know our opponents and they are all well-equipped teams. Last year we came in second, going beyond expectations because we were underdogs. This year we have strengthened and we feel that we can win".

The early passage to the finals is symptomatic of a movement that is increasingly gaining ground in Milan and Lombardy. "After Rome, we are the city with the greatest presence, between Lombardy and Piedmont there are the strongest players - says Di Giovanni - The tournament is training, the matches are of the same level that we meet in the FIP tournaments and in the Premier qualifiers. We also have some strong young players: it was unthinkable to have a sixteen-year-old like Giovannini or even a twenty-one-year-old like Abbate at this level, until a few years ago". Concepts reiterated by Giulia Sussarello, from Como and protagonist with the Milano Padel Asd. "We expected to grow because we are a solid team, we know each other well and we are also interchangeable as couples - she says - In these years the movement has grown and this is the most important thing. The young people are doing an excellent job".
