Rome, 5 September 2024 – Friday September 6th It is a date circled in red on the calendar of Jannik Sinner. The world number 1 in tennis – after the victory in the quarterfinals against Russian Daniil Medvedev – will face in the US Open Semi-Final the British Jack Draper, off the pitch could instead have the final say on the case of the positivity to Clostebol.

Jannik acquitted of doping charges
After Jannik's acquittal gives part of Itia (International Tennis Integrity Agency) for absence of malice – contamination with the prohibited substance had occurred during a massage performed by the physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi, then fired by Sinner himself together with the trainer Umberto Ferrara – Wada and Nado (respectively the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Italian Anti-Doping Agency) have time until midnight on September 6th to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (the Tas of Lausanne) against the ruling issued shortly before the start of the US Open. Wada had announced that it would carefully examined the documentation.
What can happen: the scenarios
For Sinner the wait is almost over. Two scenarios on the horizon: if Wada and Nado were to to challenge the acquittal the case of the Italian tennis player will return again court, with the closure of the affair postponed to a date to be determined. Without communications from the Anti-Doping Agencies, however, the issue would be closed once and for all.
