Seven years after their last final, Fiorentina has reached the final act of the Viareggio Cup. For the eighteenth time in their history, the Viola will play the final of the Coppa Carnevale, thanks to their 2-1 victory over Sassuolo in Seravezza. A game played at a high level by Capparella's team, who despite a series of defections in attack put the Emilians on the defensive from the first minutes, collecting a series of goal opportunities among which only Puzzoli's shortly before the half-hour was converted into a goal.

In the second half, the Neroverdi - winners of Viareggio three times in the last six editions - found the equaliser with Acatullo in the 69th minute on the developments of a free kick but in the final Sturli, with a splendid conclusion under the crossbar, found the new and deserved advantage. In the final act of the tournament, which will be held in the renovated Dei Pini stadium tomorrow at 15 pm, Fiorentina will face Genoa, who in the other semi-final beat Torino 2-0.
