Milan, 5 April 2025 – Here are the purple report cards of Milan-Fiorentina, which ended 2-2.
De Gea 8 - He returned to the column that suits him best, after two games on the other side. But this tells the story of a match for him as number 1, for Fiorentina in light and then dark. He can do little on the two goals, almost working a miracle on Jovic. Then the show: reflexively at the start of the second half on Abraham. Super first on Rejnders and then on Pulisic. Then the masterpiece on Theo, with the Frenchman flying until he arrives in front of the Spaniard who doesn't tremble.
Pongracic 5,5 - A step back on a difficult evening for the entire defensive department. A fight of swords and foils to contain Leao who is never an easy customer to deal with. He makes up for it when the Portuguese insistently targets him, creating a few too many headaches for him. In other words, it is not an evening to remember and in the end he leaves due to tiredness, but also for this. From 72' Comuzzo 6 - He goes on the trail of Leao and gets away with it.
Mary 5,5 - Soft in the exit on Abraham, when the attacker skips the first defensive line of Viola and he finds himself out of position. He makes do in a suffering match that does not improve as the minutes pass.
Ranieri 6,5 - Providential in the diagonal to close Leao. He plays with position and temperament as when he forces Walker into a yellow card foul to prevent an interesting restart. An unfortunate evaluation by Ayroldi (foul by Parisi) denies him a super goal.
Dodo 7 - The start (and not only) is explosive with the assist for Kean. On that side the Rossoneri defense is unable to take his measure. Theo is dazed and Thiaw is late in closing down. A millimetric offside cancels out a super feat for 2-3.
Mandrake 6 - He covers and offers himself as has been the case for several games now. He huffs and puffs when he doesn't receive the ball in his area but is surprised by Jovic's movement who gets in and he lets him go: 0,5 less. From 87' Adli sv.
Cataldi 5,5 - You don't see him, because his work is obscure. But you feel him because his specific weight is high especially at the start of the match. He can't make up for Pablo Mari's rash exit. He gets into trouble when Jovic comes in and sends him off track and he gets into trouble. From 59' Ndour 6 - He comes on when Milan seems to have found their rhythm. He doesn't swerve.
beans 6,5 - Stop, if anyone still exists, calling him Fagiolino. The boy has grown, a lot. The maturation process continues even when he doesn't have the ball: he takes care of the deliveries (and the field) with diligence. What an assist (missed) for Dodo.
Parisi 6,5 - Re-proposed as a substitute for Gosens, the former Empoli player works and doesn't back down even when Walker tries to show off his personality and physique. But he also has personality and doesn't back down. He comes out exhausted. From 72' Folorunsho 6 - Yet another different role, not out of place.
Gudmunsson 7 - First six minutes as the master of San Siro. He doesn't stop looking for the goal and talking to his teammates, until he is no longer served and he fades as the minutes pass. But if you always have him in the engine he can make the difference in any situation. From 58' Beltran 6 - He has a good opportunity as soon as he enters, but finds Maignan in his way.
Kean 7 - Goal number 17 on an assist from his friend Dodo. He always keeps the Rossoneri defensive line on edge. He does everything right in the second half when he finds himself in front of another monster like Maignan who denies him a brace in a personal duel with the Frenchman that ends in a draw.
All. Palladino - In the end, there remains that very strange feeling of having come very close to taking the three points. A more defeatist attitude at the start of the second half, compared to an initial approach of great temperament and it is no coincidence that the Viola's start was better.
Referee Ayroldi 5,5 - Severo when he shows a yellow card to punish a seemingly shoulder-first tackle by Mari on Rejnders. He loses clarity towards the end of the first half and his decision to consider Parisi's tackle a foul is not convincing. He does not caution Walker for the tackle he commits late on the Viola cursor.
