In the end Mateo Retegui and Juan Cuadrado left for Florence, recovered in extremis and called up by Gian Piero Gasperini. The race against time at Atalanta has therefore borne fruit, even if the national team striker and the former Viola winger should start from the bench. Gasperini's game plan seems clear, as does the lineup that should take to the field this afternoon at the Franchi. In front of Carnesecchi, Djimsiti (recovered after the problem suffered with the national team), Hien and Kolasinac will find space. On the wings Bellanova and Zappacosta, with Ruggeri raring to go but who should end up on the bench. In the middle, only certainties, with Pasalic who will be called to replace Ederson alongside De Roon. The attack, as often happens, is a bit of a puzzle given the many players Gasperini can choose from in the three-quarter line. With Samardzic and Maldini heading towards exclusion, Brescianini should be the chosen one to act as an elastic between midfield and attacking midfield, with Lookman supporting De Ketelaere, in the not too unusual version of centre forward.
