The decisive summit will take place later. Now there is the pitch, three trophies to win, even four considering the summer Club World Cup. So it is not the time to talk about such a distant future, like the one that will arrive after finishing the journey in the championship, Coppa Italia and Champions League. Between Simone Inzaghi and the Inter management there is a relationship of trust consolidated over the years. Both parties are comfortable working together and have faith in each other, they know that the only common goal at the moment is to win as many victories as possible. In the same way Beppe Marotta is aware of the fact that precisely those potential successes can change the course of history. Up until now it has been easy to imagine the continuation of the marriage, renewing from year to year. Presumably the same will happen in June: the current contract expiring in 2026 will be extended until 2027 and they will proceed with another year in search of satisfaction, perhaps with further revised figures.

But if the Champions League were to emerge from those triumphs, if Inter were to repeat the hat-trick achieved in 2010, then the open scenarios would become multiple. Already in the past summers, Inzaghi has received requests for information from abroad. Paris Saint-Germain liked him, he was on the list of names in the hands of Liverpool managers when it was time to find Klopp's replacement. Imagine if the apotheosis were to really arrive in Europe, how many elite clubs would approach the coach's door. Inzaghi himself is now inclined to stay where he is, because he knows he is appreciated at Inter, because his family is happy in Milan. And because, unlike other transfer sessions, this time Oaktree could put a budget on the table for a profitable acquisition campaign.

The season has reached such an important point that not even the management is considering how to proceed if the experience with Inzaghi were to end. The continuation of the relationship remains the most likely hypothesis today and all things considered, even if Inzaghi were to really leave because he was fed up with triumphs, there would be more reasons to celebrate than to despair. After all, the very start of the coach's experience at Inter teaches us that the best decisions can also come in a flash. Inzaghi was snatched from Lazio when he had practically found an agreement to stay in Biancoceleste. Lotito, as is known, did not digest it very well.
