Atalanta no longer wins at home. Slowed down by Venezia, it's only 0-0. Missed opportunity for Gasperini

They could have closed the gap on the top two in the class but against the Venice, despite the push of the 21 thousand Gewiss fans, the Goddess stumbles on the 0-0 in the third consecutive home draw after those against Turin and Cagliari: in 2025 on home soil in five home games (in January a draw with Juventus and the defeat against Napoli) just four points collected.

The team of Gasperini, who have been travelling like a rocket since September with eight wins and three draws, are ruining their dream title (even if in light of the draw between Napoli and Inter the distances remain unchanged) within friendly walls, also paying for the drop in performance of The Ketelaere, disappeared since Christmas, and the internal difficulties of Lookman e Retegui, overflowing instead far from home.

This explains the 0-0 against a Venezia that legitimized the point gained in Bergamo with a solid and careful defensive performance, with a precise Radu without performing miracles, and some counterattacks that the Venetians could have managed better. A fair draw, a good point for Di Francesco's team, a point that slows down the Goddess in the race for the scudetto on the eve of the two key matches, next Sunday at Juventus' home and then at Gewiss against Inter.

First half with Atalanta constantly pressing offensively and Venezia defending with order, maintaining the defensive bunker, finding interesting counterattack opportunities poorly managed in the final phase by a Zerbin without a sight. A match similar in script to the last two draws at home against Torino (1-1) and Cagliari (0-0) with constant pressure for eighty minutes and a collection of opportunities from the left created and missed by Lookman, in the first half at 19', then in the second half at 49' and 83'. The Anglo Nigerian takes over the department alone and sets up the other player of the day, the usual Zappacosta, who at 39' hits the post in the action that, a minute later, leads Cuadrado to hit the outside of the post.

Then three more easy chances for Retegui who twice in the first half missed the target with his header and at the start of the second half shot high from two steps away. A bad day for the two Atalanta scorers, fresh from goalscoring binges in Como, Verona and Empoli, yet another bad day in 2025 for The Ketelaere, who doesn't build anything and also misses an easy ball in the second half. Gasperini tried to overturn the offensive front, inserting the running Bellanova, not very precise, and the joker Maldini, not very incisive and often out of position.

No response from Pasalic and Samardzic either, another talent lost since Christmas, and with the forwards out of form theAtalanta he didn't find the right attack, instead taking risks in the final stages on a couple of counterattacks by a good Venice.
